Education and Training

The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (GCRF) Education Programme provides an extensive programme of education tailored to meet the needs of the clinical research community.

The aim of the education programme is to increase and promote research capacity and capability through a multi-professional programme.

By working closely with our partners in the NHS, academic institutions, other CRF’s, and the NIHR, the Education Team ensures a cohesive standardised programme that meets the requirements of local and national research communities.

NHS Research Scotland Good Clinical Practice (NRS GCP) Training

The GCRF Education Team lead on the national NRS GCP Training programme to develop and support a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) course approved by Transcelerate® inc., meeting pharmaceutical and biotech industry requirements.

The Education team developed the NHS Research Scotland (NRS) Introduction to GCP and GCP Update course materials; trained the trainers from across Scotland to deliver the course content and conduct QA assessment of all trainers to ensure a consistent quality programme is maintained.

The Education team continue to support the national GCP initiative through ongoing management of course materials, training of trainers and are central to the NRS Trainers Forum.

Collaborations

To promote partnerships and collaborations the GCRF Education Team can support a range of different opportunities such as designing and delivering bespoke staff development programmes; delivering adapted workshops for specific areas; presenting at conferences or academic institutions.
